BIG News!

I meant to post about the BIG news on Thursday but I got the stomach flu............OMG if you have had it you know what I am talking about! I have never been soooo sick in my LIFE!! I text my prinpal Friday morning and told him I can't even make it downstairs to get on the computer and look for a sub! I slept on the bathroom floor....worst thing ever!

On to the BIG news....I won't be teaching second grade next year...I won't be teaching any grade next year. I am the new math instructional facilitator for my district K-6!I interviewed for the position just to get the experience of interviewing at a district level because I ultimately wanted to do something with curriculum which is why I got my masters degree in curriculum leadership. I never thought they would offer me the job! It was totally unexpected. I am super excited to be helping create common assessments, a scope and sequence, and any other curriculum documents our teachers need. I will though miss all my friends at my school and all the kids. I think I will be a little depressed in August when everyone is buying stuff for their classrooms and I won't be. At least I will get to decorate my office with my teammate who is my BFF!! We are so excited to be working together again!

So I want to share with you the craziness that is happen within the next two months:

Spring Break 18-24: Going to Wisconsin with my BFF 20-25
April 8-13: Going to Cancun for FREE: My hubbies work is paying for us to go!
April 14-16: Going to Chicago for training with my new job
April 20:Throwing a Baby Shower for by BFF
April 22: We have to be moved our of our house because we accepted an offer yesterday

CRAZY!!! This is an exciting time....oh and my hubby finishes his school next week! I am super proud of him because he has done his whole degree online and it has been a long process!

On to school pictures:

This week we talked about the different types of rocks. We did some activities from my unit Earth Matter Rocks!

The observed rocks....

and the compared rocks to different types of food!

Next week we will be talking about solid, liquid, and gas! We will be making Oobleck!

Have a super weekend!

Congrats on your new position! How much fun and what a challenge that will be!
I am looking at planning a blogger meet up in the Wichita area this summer! Would you be interested in helping to plan it? Nothing to fancy, but a fun way for all of us KS bloggers to connect!
