The BIG 25.....Snow, Sale, and Giveaway

Howdy everyone! Today we had another SNOW DAY!!! I have only seen my kids 5 days in the past two week! It is crazy and it is going to get even CRAZIER. I feel like in the spring things are just crazy and we can't get anything done, but there is so much to do! Yesterday I showed you this picture right when it started snowing...

Well here is a picture from only 4 hours later!! 

We ended up getting around 12 inches of snow. It was the BEST snow storm in along time, which totally makes me happy!! 

On to the BIG 25....well folks I will be turning the BIG 25 on Monday. I know for some people are wishing they were only 25 but I feel like after 25 you really have to "find yourself"...whatever that means! ;)

In celebration of my BIG 25 I will be having a 20% off sale at my TpT all weekend and on Monday! 

Since I can only make the sale 20% off that really doesn't go well with the BIG 25 sooo.....

I wanted to share an activity I did this week during our writers workshop time. We have started our Small Moments Unit and finally got to use an activity from Kristen at Ladybug Teacher Files. We first talked about what a small moment was and I used my cute poster I had made. Then we read the story

While we were reading we talked about figurative/descriptive language. I used Kristen's worksheet for the kids to record their findings.

Giveaway and What's up!

Yes I am still alive from walking 10 miles in 2 days!! My legs hurt so bad, ugh!! They are feeling better today, which was good. I want to say thank you to everyone who commented about your reading block, it was very help. I will share in a later post about what I do during my reading block and how I want to change it up for next year. On to what we have been doing this week...

First we have been working on Subtraction with Regrouping. I bought Amy Lemmon's unit and I have been using different parts of it. I love all the cute posters she made.

We also practiced with these cute activities. The kids loved the matching snowman activity and guess what...it was a FREEBIE on Amy's blog!!

We also started our Kansas Unit today. We talked about the trails that ran through Kansas and started mapping them all out. Here is what we did today, I will show you the finished product later in the week.

Lastly, of course we had to use Jennifer's Groundhog Day activities and make our predictions. We made a class graph. The kids are so excited to see if their prediction comes true!

Last but not least......I have reached 200 FOLLOWERS!! I can't believe it! Thank you all very much! Of course I have to have a giveaway. Here is it.....a custom magnet board. Winner of my wreath Giveaway....

I again used my personal random number generator....my husband. I asked him to pick a number 1 through 90. He thought about it for a while and then came up with a logical number. Here is what he said, "Well....you are 23 years old so I pick 23!" I copied and pasted my comments into word, they are way easier to count that way. I need to go back to Kristen's post about numbering and figure that whole thing out for the next giveaway. Anywho, number 23 is actually one of my new favorite bloggy friends!!!

Ok so I am freaking out...I go back to school tomorrow. I totally have mixed emotions about it, but I guess that is natural, right?

Well today I have been running around getting some of the awesome stuff I have found and bought from some of your great blogs. I have to share what I have gotten, because it is GOOD STUFF!

First is from Holly at Crisscross Applesauce! She has made some New Years Resolution items and the few hot topic OLW or one little word. If you have not heard of it check it out here! I am using her activities on Wednesday morning when the kids are fresh back from break! :) Also Holly has a magical hat that goes with math. You should definitely check that out too.

Second I purchased Amy Lemon's Double Digit Subtraction with Regrouping Unit. It looks great! I will be teaching this at the end of January and it has some great activities. She also had a freebie on her blog that went along with it. Click Here!

Also as promised I have pictures of my crafting organization unit I talked about in a previous post! All of the containers are from Micheal's and took a LONG time to put together, but they were totally worth it.

I used the color scheme black, white, and gray. A lot of the small organizer I got from Target in the dollar section. My favorite part are the glass jars I got from Michael's for 2 bucks and I made them look cute with ribbon!
